Here are some addenda to my previous summary on "Grammatical number", which appeared as Linguist 7.338 (March 4, 1996). There were a couple of late responses, and worse, I realised belatedly that I had omitted to incorporate a couple of punctual ones! Thanks, then, and apologies where necessary, go to Denis Creissels, Matthew Dryer, Sandra Joppen and Johanna Laakso. (I was also provided with some specific bibliographical references to studies in Basque that touch on the issue of number, for which I am very grateful; however, since my original request was for references about number in general, not specifically about Basque, I do not include these below. If anyone is interested I will of course share these with her/him.) ADDITIONS TO READING LIST ON GRAMMATICAL NUMBER Dryer, Matthew S. 1989 "Plural Words". Linguistics 27:865-895. L.
