Department of Language and Communication Faculty of Arts University of Groningen, Netherlands Position: Full Professor The Department of Language and Communication has an opening for a new full professor to chair the section of institutional communication. Primary duties are developing research in areas such as intercultural communication, mass media and organiza- tional communication. Communication studies at the Faculty of Arts are grounded in linguistic subdisciplines such as pragma- tics, discourse analysis and sociolinguistics but social science methods are used as well. The Department serves about 400 students. Qualifications: PhD, international publications, demonstrated ability in teaching, and in particular, good communicative and organizational skills to head the section in developing a coherent research and teaching program in the relatively new field of communication studies in the Faculty of Arts.
