There is an increasing need for a standard way of citing on-line research. On-line sites may change addresses, move to new locations, be revised, and/or disappear. The January 12, 1996, issue of *The Chronicle of Higher Education* has a helpful discussion which should be on the *Chronicle* web site <http://chronicle.merit.edu> by January 16, 1996. Three good citation guides that are increasingly being followed are: <gopher://h-net.msu.edu:70/00/lists/H-ARFICA/internet-cit> "A Brief Citation Guide for Internet Sources in History and the Humanities," by Melvin E. Page. <http://www.uvm.edu/~xli/reference/estyles.html> "Bibliographic Formats for Citing Electronic Information." by Xia Li and Nancy B. Crane. <http://www.cas.usf.edu/english/walker/mla.html> MLA-Style Citations of Electronic Sources, by Janice R. Walker.
