International Symposium on Bilingualism (Revised Dates and New Information) 9-12 April, 1997 Keynote Speakers: Peter Auer (Hamburg), Pieter Muysken (Amsterdam), Michel Paradis (Montreal), Shana Poplack (Ottawa) Special Panels There will be special panels on language acquisition and impairment of bilingual children, bilingual speech perception and processing, Sign/Speech bilingualism, language contact and conflict in central and eastern Europe and the Asian Pacific. Call for Papers Submissions are invited for ORAL or POSTER presentations on any aspect of bilingualism. Papers which are based on empirical research and which seek to forge new links between establsihed fields (e.g. linguistics, sociology, psychology, neurology, eudcation, speech and language pathology) or to develop new sub-fields are particularly welcome. The DEADLINE for submission is 30 SEPTEMBER, 1996. CONSOLE 5 - Call for Papers The fifth meeting of the Student Organization of Linguistics in Europe (ConSOLE) will be held in London (UCL) from 16 until 18 December. SOLE aims at providing students of Generative Linguistics with a possibility of gaining international experience and a publication forum of their own. Furthermore SOLE strives at enhancing contacts and cooperation between students of Generative Linguistics in Europe and around the world. Papers are solicited in the field of generative linguistics, more specifically in, but not limited to, phonology, morphology, semantics, sign language,language acquisition and syntax.
