Kwansei Gakuin University's School of Policy Studies announces an opening for an Associate Lecturer in English (EFL/EAP), beginning 9/1/96, with a contract extending through 3/31/99 and renewable for one year. Duties include eight 90-minute classes per week (Tuesday-Friday); one component coordinatorship per semester; and collaborative curriculum, materials, and test development. Involvement in entrance exams and occasional campus events is also expected. Salary is approximately 6 million yen per year plus research allowances, subsidized furnished housing, and R/T airfare. The Kobe-Sanda campus (one-year-old) is located approximately one hour from Osaka or Shin-Kobe stations. The successful candidate will have native-like competence in English; some knowledge of Japanese or at least a strong desire to learn; an M.A. in TEFL or closely related field; substantial solid EFL experience; computer literacy; specific experience in curriculum development, testing, CALL, and/or EAP; an ability to function well as a part of a team; and a commitment to both students and further professional development.
