Visiting Positions in Phonology & Semantics at UMass The Department of Linguistics at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst has two sabbatical replacement positions available for 1996-97, contingent on funding. Phonology: Full-year position as visiting assistant professor. Specialization in phonological theory, with strength in phonetics a plus. Ph.D. must be completed by September, 1996. Salary: $38,000. Semantics: One-semester position as visiting assistant professor in Fall, 1996. Specialization in formal semantics. Ph.D. must be completed by September, 1996. Salary: $19,000.
