 DEPARTMENT OF LINGUISTICS

 The Department of Linguistics at the University of Califor-
 nia, San Diego has a tenure-track opening at the Assistant
 Professor level beginning September 1996. We seek a
 specialist in phonology. Desirable qualifications include a
 background in morphology and a strong language background.
 A linguistics Ph.D. is required. Salary is based on
 University of California pay scales.
