About Groningen:
Groningen is the major city of the north of the Netherlands, with a
foundation dating back over 950 years. The University is situated in
the centre of the city, close to several mediaeval churches and surrounded
by narrow streets, canals and bustling market places. Groningen is also
a modern city, whith a thriving cafe culture. It boasts a number of gems
of modern architecture, of which the Modern Art Museum, built under the
supervision of Allessandro Mendini is perhaps the most exciting.

Travel information:
Groningen is easy to reach by train, from all main cities in Holland.
>From Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam a train goes every thirty minutes to
Groningen . You may have to change in Amersfoort. The duration of the
trip is appr. 2.30 hours.
