		 PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT

Welcome to the 6th International Cognitive Linguistics Conference
which will take place in Stockholm, Sweden, July 10-16 1999. This 1999
conference of the International Cognitive Linguistics Association
(ICLA) will be hosted by the Faculty of Letters of Stockholm
University.

We encourage submissions of papers and posters as well as proposals
for theme session topics/organizers. Next circular, on April 20, 1998,
will include information about invited speakers and instructions for
abstracts and posters. Registration forms and hotel reservation forms
will be available at our www site and via ftp from Febr. 15, 1999.

	 Deadline for abstracts and posters: Nov 16, 1998
 Notification of acceptance for abstracts and posters: Febr. 15, 1999
