Dear metaphor-researchers, I am trying to get hold of an old book on
metaphor which had a wide influence on German metaphor-research, but
so far without success: A. Biese, Die Philosophie des Metaphorischen,
Hamburg und Leipzig, 1893. Does anybody have a copy or access to a
copy of this book, and if so, could they send me a photocopy of the
introduction?? Many thanks in advance, Brigitte Nerlich

Could somebody give some information or bibliography about the
efficiency of morphological and syntactical computer parsers, and the
evolution of this efficiency?

Message 3: Textbooks Acoustic Phonetics

I'm looking for a good textbook on acoustic phonetics for teaching an
Experimental Phonetics course. The course targets students who are
already familiar with basic phonetics and consists mainly of
computer-based exercises such as measuring formants, segmenting
signals, reading spectrograms and conducting intelligibility
tests. Our main tool is ESPS Waves. A summary of the answers will be
posted to the list.

Thanks a lot for your help!
