Conference organiser: Paul Rowlett (Salford).

This is the first annual conference of the recently established
North-West Centre for Linguistics comprising researchers
primarily from the Universities of Bangor, Lancaster, Manchester,
Salford and UMIST and presided by Professor Nigel Vincent
(Manchester).
