W.V.O. Quine is scheduled to visit our college philosophy club in March. He has asked us to prepare questions for him beforehand. Does anyone have any interesting questions they would like to ask? We don't have that many students here who are really interested in this guy (or philosophy in general) so I, as a student, am looking for some outside input. This is a rare opportunity for us to pick Quine's brain about things like indeterminacy of translation and his pragmatic theory of truth. ______________________________________________________________________________ Scott M. My friend is a teacher at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, Poland. He is working on a project mentioned in the subject of this message, and he would really appreciate any help and suggestions from any foreign teacher, professor or whoever interested and skilled in the subject. If you have any experience in teaching vocabulary and would like to share your opinions, hints, or ways of teaching, he would be really grateful. As he is a person of no account ;-) please send all comments to my account magicMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issuehoth.amu.edu.pl Thanks in advance, Maciej
Does anyone know of any reasonable large bilingual word lists for English-Portuguese or Spanish-Portuguese? (By 'reasonably large' I mean in the order of thousands of entries.)
