Official languages of SIB will be Galician, Spanish, English and French. + All submissions will be peer-reviewed anonymously by members of the Scientific Committee. The main criterion for selection will be the quality of proposal. The deadline for submissions will be 30 April, 1997. Notices of acceptance will be sent out in June,1997. + The papers presented at the SIB will be published at a later date by Vigo University Press. + Each submission should include: a) a cover sheet containing: the author(s) name(s), address, affiliation, the title of the oral presentation, and equipment required for presentation. b) three copies of one-page abstract. FINAL CALL FOR PAPERS 8th Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conference Cornell University ~ LSA Summer Institute July 25 - 27, 1997 The Japanese/Korean Conference provides a forum for linguistic research about Japanese and Korean, thereby deepening our understanding of these two languages, which have striking typological similarities. We especially encourage presentations that investigates both languages. Topics include (but are not limited to): syntax, semantics, typology, discourse, pragmatics, grammaticalization, historical linguistics, phonology, phonetics, morphology, first- and second language acquisition, psycholinguistics, and sociolinguistics. Presentations are 20 minutes long and will be followed by a 10-minute discussion. The proceedings of this conference will be published as Japanese/Korean Linguistics 8 - CSLI, and distributed by Cambridge University Press. Instruction for abstracts Abstracts should be written such that they fit on one side of a single sheet of 8.5x11 (for A4) paper, with at least 0.75 inch (2cm) margins on all sides, using a typeface of at least 12 points. Abstracts may include one additional page for figures, examples, and bibliographical citations. Abstracts should include the title of the paper at the top of each page, but not the name of the author(s). Ten (10) copies of the abstract should be accompanied by a single 3x5 index car on which is written the title of the paper, the name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s), e-mail address, telephone number, and fax number (if available). No faxed or e-mailed abstracts will be accepted.
