A graduate student (Masters' candidate) in one of my Linguistics courses is thinking of pursuing a Ph.D. in the areas of stylistics and/or literary pragmatics. She would like to know what Ph.D. programs are out there which have specializations in the application of linguistic concepts to the analysis of literary texts. Her main interest is English literature, so I assume the most appropriate sort of program for her will turn out to be in an English department (rather than in a Linguistics dept.), but any suggestions would be appreciated. She's willing to relocate pretty much anywhere in the US, but would prefer to remain in the country. Please reply to me directly. Thank you very much, Rich Epstein.Mail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issue
