We're asked periodically about the possibility of setting up new World Wide Web mirror sites for LINGUIST, and what our policy on these is. We think it would be useful to state it publicly to the list. So here it is. Anyone may set up a LINGUIST mirror, provided they conform to the following requirements: 1. They must make their site an exact mirror of LINGUIST, i.e. they can make no changes which are specific to their site without consulting with LINGUIST. 2. They must provide whatever maintenance is required to keep the site functional. 3. They must notify LINGUIST of their new site before they begin setting it up. We provide anonymous login from one site, from which the LINGUIST Web directories may be downloaded. The site is: ftp://www.emich.edu/pub/linguist This site is updated every two hours. We should add a word of warning here: the LINGUIST site includes many thousands of files, and is growing very fast indeed. If you decide to set up a LINGUIST mirror, make sure you have a lot of disk-space. Anthony, Helen & DanielMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issue
