Dear Linguist List members,

I would like to ask for your help in searching for a Russian language
corpus analysis (something like a Francis & Kucera word frequency
list). I wonder if anyone of you has ever encountered such word
frequency list for Russian or could point me in the right direction. I
would greatly appreciate any information on this.

Dear linguists,

I have a question on behalf of a friend (Liesbeth Hendrix) who has to
evaluate and compare the outcomes of the English- and French-foreign
language programmes in Flemish secondary schools. She is looking for
well-tried tests which measure not just linguistic competence but also
discourse, pragmatic and/or sociolinguistic competence in French
and/or English. Also, she wants to know if anyone has experience in
measuring and comparing levels of achievement in two different
second/foreign languages (involving the same learners). Please send
any information, recommendations, suggestions you might have to
