Dear Linguists, I hope to be teaching two courses in the new session (1997/98): (1) African language and Culture and (2) African Language structure. I am looking for some suggestions on how to get further materials (text, audio and video) for the two courses. I hope to post a summary. I am wondering if anyone has heard of any study done to confirm or deny a correlation between lower volume while speaking words that denote small quantities; and conversely, higher volume while speaking words that denote large quantities. If there are sufficient answers, I will repost to the list. Thank you for your help. Pat PATRICK C.
