I owe special thanks to the two persons who answered to my request about borrowing in Arabic and i am giving the answers it could help others 1-Dr. Ola Hafez Cairo university Egypt CEDEJ: Egypte: Monde Arabe. The paper, written in English is entitled "Phonological and morphological integration of borrowings in Egyptian Arabic". 2- I have written two monographs which deal in part with the phonology of loanwords into and from Arabic: The Case for Fricative-Laterals in Proto- Semitic (American Oriental Society 1977) and Affricated S.ade in the Semitic Languages (American Academy for Jewish Research 1982). The former deals with d.aad, the latter with s.aad and with the methodology of reconstructing phonetics. Both have extensive bibliographies. Richard C.
