ANNOUNCEMENT OF FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION IN SOCIOLINGUISTICS OR COMMUNICATION THEORY Applications are invited for a full-time Professor or Associate Professor in Sociolinguistics or Communication Theory in the Department of Integrated Arts and Sciences. Prospective applicants should refer to the following: 1. Subdepartment: Integrated Language and Culture 2. Position: Professor or Associate Professor 3. Field: Sociolinguistics or Communication Theory 4. Qualifications: Applicants should have a doctor's degree or its equivalent 5. Age: Above the age of about 40 (Retirement age is 63.) 6. Nationality: Any nationality (A knowledge of Japanese sufficient to teach Japanese students, attending department meetings and assisting in other matters is required. For a non-Japanese, the contract is for three years and renewable under the provisions of Osaka Prefecture University, which are based on Law concerning the Special Measure for the Appointment of Foreign Nationals as Faculty Members at National and Public Universities.) 7. Teaching Responsibilities: (1)Special subjects: Cross-cultural Exchange (from 2001), Sociolinguistics (in the near future), Integrated Studies, Integrated Seminar, etc. (2)English for general education: English Conversation, etc.(for a native speaker of English); English I & II, English LL (for a non-native speaker of English) (3)Master's program: Special Studies in Cross-cultural Exchange (from 2000) 8.
