Murray State University, a state-supported university with six academic colleges, has an enrollment of 8,500 students. Located in the Land-Between-the Lakes region of western Kentucky, the City of Murray is accessible to Nashville, St. Louis, Memphis and Louisville. U. S. The University has an extensive number of study abroad programs for students and faculty. The University seeks to fill the following position: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, Department of English, Murray State University. Tenure track position to begin August 1999. QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English, or closely related area with specialization in an area of TESOL or SLA. Minor in one or more of the following areas highly desirable: Composition and Rhetoric, Technical or Professional Writing, Modern Literature, Humanities/Great Books, or Film and Literature. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach graduate courses in TESOL and courses in English.
