CALL FOR PAPERS

The Canadian Linguistic Association Inc will hold its 1999 conference as
part of the Congress of the Social Sciences and Humanities at the
University of Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke (Quebec) Canada, From Friday June 4
to Monday June 7 1999. Members are invited to submit abstracts
representing all areas of linguistics. Only members in good standing for
1999 may submit an abstract. 

Deadline for receipt of abstracts by the program committee is February 1,
1999.

L'Association canadienne de linguistique Inc tiendra son congres de 1999
lors du Congres des sciences sociales et humaines a l'Universite de
Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke (Quebec), Canada, du vendredi 4 juin au lundi 7
juin 1999. Les membres sont invites a soumettre des propositions de
communication (resumes) portant sur tous les domaines de la discipline.
Seuls les membres en regle pour l'annee 1999 peuvent soumettre des
resumes.

Date limite de la soummission au comite de programme est le 1 fevrier
1999.

 LANGUAGE TYPOLOGY

 First call for papers 


On-line conference "Language typology" is going to be held on May 15th
to 25th 1999. The organizers are Kazan State University and "Web
Journal of Formal, Computational & Cognitive Linguistics"
(http://www.kcn.ru/tat_en/science/fccl/) . Papers on all aspects of
typology are welcome. All the papers will be put on the Web site of
the Journal. After the conference the proceedings of the conference
are to be published in the Journal, on CD and printed as a book.
 
SUBMISSION & REVIEW PROCEDURES: 

Paper selection and review procedures will be similar to those of a
regular conference. We ask you send a shot abstract in ASCII and a
paper in ASCII or RTF or PostScript. Length of the paper is not
limited. Abstracts and papers must be send to <solovyevtatincom.ru>.
The first 3 lines of the message should consist of

 Your name
 Your email address
 The title of the paper
 
Our time-frame is:

Deadline for papers: May 1, 1999

Final program announced: May, 10, 1999

Participation in the on-line conference will be carried out on the
list TYPOLOGY.LIST that has been created for that purpose. To
