I am looking for Germanic fonts. Does anyone know where these can be gotten
or downloaded? Thank you!

I find it fascinating that so many native speakers
of English find these constructions abnormal or
impossible:

?*I promised Jane to read the Sound Pattern of English

It would be very interesting if the
same is true in other languages where other relevant
things are as in English. I have a feeling, though
I no longer trust my so-called "intuitions", that
in Polish these are also odd, which is strange because
in English they sound pretty good to me. Anyway,
I would like to ask speakers of various languages to comment.
I will post a summary if there is enough response.

Dear Colleagues,
Though Summer is just about to come, may I ask if any institute is
organizing a short-term linguistic program for next winter (January &
February 1999)? If anybody happens to have any information, please
reply me to my mailbox. Thanks a lot!

Message 4: PIE / Hebrew

Subject: PIE / Hebrew

Hi everybody,

About a month back I wrote that I was putting a book together on later
ancient Hebrew culture. I asked if someone could write me a quote which
showed that English is not related to Hebrew, and I would quote it in
the book.

I was astounded by the number and in depth responses I got back from
many people. Some even saying that Hebrew _was_ related to English.
Thankyou for all the people that wrote back.

Since then, my drive crashed, and I've lost the answers. I feel very bad
about asking people again, but if you did write me a reply you wanted in
the book, could you please send it again??

Maybe you could check your mail program for a mail sent to
revobshotmail.com, and send it again? Or, if you have any other ideas,
could you write me?

I'm kicking myself here for losing so many wonderful comments on the
subject. Pleeeze send again! :)
