Job Description: The Faculty of Linguistics and Literary Studies at the University of Bielefeld, Germany, invites applications for the following post (ref: wiss2042):
Lecturer (Lehrkraft für besondere Aufgaben, half-time position, E13 TV-L) for one year starting October 1, 2013.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach three courses each semester (6 SWS) in the linguistics master and bachelor programs. Language of instruction at least at bachelor level is German. He/she will also supervise bachelor and master theses, contribute to the organisation of studies and administration within the subject. Furthermore, the appointee will collaborate within the research projects of the work group, and will be involved in the development of teaching materials based on current research.

- Completed MA in Linguistics
- Experience in university teaching, especially in basic courses within a linguistic curriculum
- Focus (in research and teaching) on relevant areas within general linguistics

Ideally the appointee will have:
- A research focus in at least one of the following areas: morphology, syntax, semantics and/or pragmatics
- Language-theoretical competence, e.g. in generative grammar, optimality theory and/or formal semantics
- Experience in the analysis of non-Germanic languages
