"Buenos dias", "buenas noches" -- this was the first words in a foreign language I heard in my life, as a three-year old boy growing up in developing post-war Western Germany, where the first gastarbeiters had arrived from Spain. Fascinated by the strange sounds, I tried to get to know some more languages, the only opportunity being TV courses of English and French -- there was no foreign language education for pre-teen school children in Germany yet in those days. Job Description: Applicants should have:
A relevant Master degree or above
Linguistics training background
Experience in teaching Korean as a foreign/second language
An interest in the development of language teaching methodology and second language acquisition
Experience in curriculum development
The ability to use English as a medium of instruction
Experience in teaching Asian learners at university level. Those with at least four years’ post-Master teaching experience may be considered for appointment at Lecturer rank.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to two years commencing January 2014, renewable subject to performance, funding and mutual agreement.

Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical care, plus a contract-end gratuity for an appointment of two years.
