The applied linguistics faculty in the English Department at Northern Arizona University invites applications for two (2) tenure-track positions at the rank of assistant professor beginning in August 2013. We seek two colleagues with primary teaching and research specializations in one or more of the following areas: - L2 reading with an emphasis on applied psycholinguistics or vocabulary - L2 writing with an emphasis on text analysis or writing development - L2 skill-based assessment, using statistical methods - L2 pragmatics with an emphasis on listening and speaking Responsibilities include teaching courses in the MA-TESL program, the applied linguistics doctoral program, and the English undergraduate program. Teaching responsibilities include teaching up to 9 hours per semester, with reassigned time based on dissertation committee work and College policies. Responsibilities also include active research; student advising and mentoring; doctoral committee work; and department, college, university, and professional service.
