Job Description: The Department of Writing at the University of Central Arkansas invites
applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position beginning
August 15, 2013. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to
teaching and be able to teach in several sub-fields of linguistics.

The teaching load is four courses per semester, including general education
linguistics, and introductory and upper-division courses in the Linguistics
major, several of which are dual-listed at the graduate level. The
successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to carry out research
in the applicant’s area of specialization. Linguistics courses are also
part of the majors in Writing, Creative Writing, and African/African
American Studies.

Minimum Qualifications:
Evidence of teaching excellence in linguistics at the undergraduate level
and a PhD in linguistics or closely related field.
