Modern Hebrew Lecturer at Indiana University-Bloomington The Robert A. and Sandra S. Borns Jewish Studies Program at Indiana University -Bloomington invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-time position, for a Hebrew Lecturer. The Hebrew lecturer will teach 3 courses of Modern Hebrew each semester, at one or more Hebrew levels, under the supervision of the director of the Hebrew language program, and following the innovative curriculum and texts in use in the language program. This position will begin on August 1st, 2013. This position is for a three year initial appointment with subsequent renewal subject to performance, funding and programmatic needs. The successful candidate should possess fluency in Hebrew and should be a team-player. The successful candidate should have prior teaching experience, having taught the Hebrew language using the Hebrew-in-Hebrew approach, under the communicative approach to language teaching. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with media and audiovisual technology in the classroom. Some experience in developing successful teaching materials for teaching Hebrew is preferred. An M.A. degree in a related field is preferred.
