The Research Committee of the University of Patras invites applications for hiring one (1) full-time post-doctoral researcher to work for the project Morphology in language-contact situations: Greek dialects in contact with Turkish and Italian (acronym «MORILAN», code 643), under the scientific supervision of Angela Ralli, Professor of Linguistics. The project is implemented under the Act "Excellence" of the Operational Programme "Education and Lifelong Learning". It is funded by the European Union (European Social Fund-ESF) and national resources. The successful applicant will sign a contract for the entire duration of the project, as described in the technical annex and not beyond the official termination date, i.e. 27/09/2015. He/she will participate in the work with respect to the following fields: a) Research Methodology; b) Discovery and investigation of written and oral dialectal sources; c) Composition and diffusion of a questionnaire; d) Data analysis and study of dialectal phenomena; e) Project dissemination. The successful applicant is expected to meet the following criteria: Scientific training: Advanced skills in the scientific field of morphology in language-contact situations. Professional experience: Master's and PhD degrees in Linguistics, awarded by a Hellenic or other recognized University. Additional criteria: a) Experience in similar research projects; b) Relevant publications; c) Fluency in Greek, English and Italian. Basic knowledge of Turkish would be most desirable. The successful postdoctoral researcher will be selected by the project coordinator, on the basis of scientific excellence, skills and qualifications, and without any restrictions of nationality. The following requirements will apply: a) Possession of a doctoral degree or completion of formal requirements for a Ph.D. at the time of application; b) During the period of employment, the postdoctoral fellow will be paid by the project, and he/she will be committed to a full-time job. The research will be conducted at the premises of the Laboratory of Modern Greek Dialects, Department of Philology, University of Patras.
