The English Seminar in Basel invites applications for a Lecturer in English Language Practice and (Applied) Linguistics to teach students of English in English Language Practice/Academic Writing at the BA level, as well as courses in linguistics at the BA and MA level. We are looking for an enthusiastic native speaker of English with a PhD in (Applied) Linguistics or English and relevant teaching and research experience at university level. You will join our vivid and research active department and collaborate with colleagues in language practice, linguistics, and literary and culture studies (please see the website address above). The teaching load is four two-hour courses per term. The starting date is August 1, 2013. The contract is limited to three years. Your application should include a letter of motivation, CV, list of publications, documentation of your teaching experience, as well as a 15-30 pages sample of your academic writing.
