Applications are invited for Senior Lecturer(s)/Lecturer(s)/Assistant Lecturer(s) at the Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages. Ref. 1213/164(482)/2 Closing date: April 8, 2013 The Department is a young and vibrant department established in 2004. It now invites applications for teaching posts for its academic programmes. Applicants should have (i) a higher degree (at least at Master level) in linguistics or a related discipline; and (ii) experience in teaching courses in different areas of linguistics, preferably at university level. Applicants with at least four years’ post-Master teaching experience may be considered for appointment at Lecturer rank, and those with substantial (ten years or longer) post-Master teaching experience may be considered for appointment at Senior Lecturer rank. The appointees will (a) teach undergraduate/postgraduate courses; (b) supervise research projects of undergraduate and MA students; and (c) undertake administrative duties. For Senior Lecturer: Appointments will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years commencing August 2013, renewable subject to performance, funding and mutual agreement. For Lecturer or Assistant Lecturer: Appointments will initially be made on contract basis for up to two years commencing August 2013, renewable subject to performance, funding and mutual agreement. Salary and Fringe Benefits: Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical care, plus a contract-end gratuity for appointments of two years or longer; and for Senior Lecturer: housing benefits for eligible appointees.
