LINGUIST List Job Announcement Policy
About LINGUIST List
The LINGUIST List has been listing jobs for the linguistic community worldwide for over a decade. We are the oldest such service on the Internet, and are the most widely used online linguistic resource. Professional linguists regularly use our site to search by subject and keyword for the ideal job.
Job Announcement Policies
Because we feel that helping job seekers is an important service to the discipline of linguistics, LINGUIST List works with employers to ensure their announcements are sent to the list in a timely fashion. However, we do have a few policy guidelines to which we adhere in order to maintain the integrity of the site. Please read the information below before submitting a job announcement and feel free to contact the Jobs Editor at jobs linguistlist.org with any comments or questions.
Posting to LINGUIST List
It's easy! Just submit your job announcement using our web form and we'll post it within 48 hours. Announcements sent via email, mail, or fax will not be accepted. Your posting will remain live on our site until the date you specify (or for six months if "Open Until Filled" is selected as the application deadline). After this it will be archived in our database on our main USA website, and on our 4 European and Australian mirror sites.
Job Submission Process:
You can submit a job announcement in 4 easy steps:
- Tell LINGUIST how to contact you, in case we have questions about
your announcement.
- Enter the job description, including the address to which applications must be sent.
NB: If your job announcement concerns the availability of multiple positions of different ranks, each of these positions must be submitted as separate announcements. Multiple positions under the same job title may be submitted as a single announcement.
- Choose a method of payment.
- Verify that your job announcement is correct and submit it to LINGUIST.
Please note that LINGUIST List does not serve as an intermediary between the employer and the job applicant. Application dossiers and responses to positions must be made to the contact names specified in the posting.
