Natural Semantic Metalanguage list
| Full Description: | Membership of NSM-L (nsm-l@listserv.mq.edu.au) is open to all those with an interest in the Natural Semantic Metalanguage approach associated with the work of Anna Wierzbicka and Cliff Goddard. The main idea of this approach is to search for empirical universals in grammar and to link universal grammar with meaning. Universal grammar is constituted by the inherent grammatical properties of some 60 empirically established semantic primes, which have concrete exponents in all languages. |
