My previous roles at LINGUIST List include working as a team member of LL MAP and LEGO; and as an Editor for Calls and Conferences, Queries and
Summaries, and FYI. As Managing Editor, I now get the privilege of exploring and learning each topic. Getting the chance to deepen my understanding
of how LINGUIST works and my daily interaction with the Editors is a great deal of fun for me- I can't imagine a better position for me here.
I have a wide array of academic interests, ranging from Polish to neuroscience to gender studies.
This makes finding a focus in linguistics difficult, but I am especially passionate about the syntax/semantics interface-
primarily scope, quantifiers, negative polarity items, and structural ambiguity. I also greatly enjoy pragmatics, and am writing a paper which examines the notion of
oh well as a distinct discourse marker.
When not immersed in linguistics,
I enjoy spending time with my friends (I suppose this would be obvious) and family (slightly less obvious), reading, learning new crafts, doing logic problems,
discovering unusual films and music, traveling, and roller skating. |
