Erin Smith LINGUIST intern erin |
In May of 2009, I graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with BAs in French and Linguistics. When I first started college, I was listed as a somewhat different double major: English and Musical Theatre. After the first year, however, I dropped both majors, instead returning to French, and then another year later, discovering Linguistics. Combined with my deep, abiding love for everything language-related, I would like to contribute to the body of knowledge that currently is Linguistics. I am planning on attending graduate school to obtain degrees necessary for work as a researcher or potentially a language-related health care specialist (in an area such as speech pathology or rehabilitation). Currently, I am working on LLMAP at LINGUIST. It is an amazing tool and interface, and I am thrilled to be a part of the team! Throughout my undergrad, I traveled extensively (including studying abroad in France and Costa Rica). It is something I will always enjoy, and my future involves vague plans to go to China, where I will teach English, study Mandarin, and travel on the weekends. |
