Gayathri Sriram

Born and raised in Bangalore, India, I came to Michigan nearly twelve years ago as an Electronics Engineer with working experience in Integrated Chip Design. In pursuit of a new challenge, I started working on my Masters in Business Information Systems from Eastern Michigan University which eventually lead me to apply for a student position at LINGUIST. I joined LINGUIST as a graduate assistant in 2000 and stayed on after my graduation to work as a programmer for the various grant projects. For the last 8 years, my primary role has been that of a project manager thus exposing me to different aspects of real-world application development like database design, interface design, application implementation, intensive testing, and workflow management. Prioritizing, organizing, and managing time are becoming second nature to me, thanks to this incredible opportunity. In 2008, to further hone my management skills, I studied PM courses offered by Project Management Insititute, and obtained my Project Management certification (PMP). This certification, along with my work experience at LINGUIST, has helped me grow as an individual and a manager!

My life outside of LINGUIST is my charming second-grader, Mandira; she never ceases to amaze me! When I do have some spare time, I enjoy reading books, listening to music, and travelling.
