When I discovered linguistics in college, I was delighted to learn that all the fascinating concepts I'd been pondering about language had an entire field of study devoted to them. I began my studies at Cleveland State University and finished with a BA from the University of Oregon in 2000. Since then, I've been involved in mostly non-linguistic endeavors, mainly the pursuit of a Master's degree in Library and Information Science (Kent State University, 2003) and subsequent employment as a librarian. My love of linguistics never waned, however, and I am very excited to be returning to the field via Eastern Michigan University's MA program. I am especially thrilled at the opportunity to apply my information scientist skills here at LINGUIST List while working on the GOLD and LEGO teams. I also enjoy food (purveying, cooking and eating of), photography, knitting, and spending time with my husband and toddler boy. |
