I'm a classicist working on Latin and ancient Greek poetry written in meters based on vowel quantity.
As a native English speaker, it is difficult to appreciate the poetry's emphasis on vowel quantity. I'd like to listen to native speakers recite poetry with meters based on vowel quantity. Any suggestions as to what language might provide this experience? For that matter, what living languages have a strong emphasis on vowel quantity? |
