Conference funding for lesser known languages

I have a colleague (linguist) in India who has recently had a paper accepted at a conference at the University of London School of Oriental Studies, but the cost to present is prohibitevely expensive for him and the conference planners are unable to sponsor him. His area is on lesser know Himalayian languages. Do you know of a sponsoring agency that sponsors professionals from developing countries to developed countries to present papers?
