Jost Gippert: Our Featured Linguist!

"Buenos dias", "buenas noches" -- this was the first words in a foreign language I heard in my life, as a three-year old boy growing up in developing post-war Western Germany, where the first gastarbeiters had arrived from Spain. Notice: I am looking for access to an fMRI machine to conduct a neurolinguistic
experiment (evaluating perception of L2 sounds) within the Tokyo/Kanto
area. The machine must be equipped with a system to present audio input to
subjects. Data collection will start sometimes in 2011 (schedule is flexible).

I am open to any collaboration on this project, in exchange with access to
fMRI and/or help with data analyzes (although I will, of course, pay for
any fees related to the use of the fMRI). Feel free to ask for more
information about the project.

Thanks for any help/contact you can provide.
