Hello,
My husband, Hugh McCann, journalism, U of M, wrote a book, "The Search for Johnny Nicholas" a prisoner in Camp Dora, WWII. Back in the 70s, he and his colleague Dave Smith traveled to Haiti, France and Germany, as well as the National Archives in Washington to research the story. The research has continued as more information is declassified and search engines now exist. Hugh has had a stroke, and I am trying to assist. Recently, we discovered a source that has Georges Schmidt, a translator in contact with Johnny. Google brought me to this site where I saw someone else was looking for him and asking for help. I would like to make the same request. If you are in contact with him, please give him our email address and this message. We would very much like to hear about his experience in connection with Johnny. We greatly appreciate any assistance given. Thank you, Beverly and Hugh McCann hwmc@charter.net 9850 Watertower Rd.
