Research Interests:
Computational linguistics, with regards to various applications of cross-field technologies and cognitive linguistics/neuroscience are my primary research interests.
During my undergraduate career, my research experience was focused on examining comprehension deficits in individuals with right cerebral hemisphere damage due to stroke. Specifically, the projects that I worked on tested participants' abilities to integrate multiple contextual cues, suppress irrelevant information, and decipher ambiguities at word-level. As research assistant, my role involved the development of stimuli, programming of the experimental framework using software tools, and administering all tests to participants.
Ultimately, my passion for language-oriented research and the opportunity to get more involved with the linguistic academic community led me to the LINGUIST List internship. I am very excited about joining the team and hope to gain valuable experience in the field of linguistics.
Degree: B.A. in English Linguistics with a minor in Spanish, University of Houston.
