I studied Research Psych at U of M- Flint, and since I did not want to take linear algebra and its ilk, but I did want a degree involved with computers, I delved into Cognitive Science. After graduating from a university where I was offered chances for hands-on research, it was only natural for me to gravitate to the LINGUIST List. As a student editor, I have been developing my working coding skills with SQL, coldfusion, javascript, and XML as well as expanding my knowledge of all things linguistic. My particular interest is in the computer side of linguistics, and I thoroughly enjoyed LSA Summer Institute's Computational Linguistics classes.
