This collection of papers examines the issues which arise when Spanish (or any language) comes into contact with other languages. How do the languages change and affect each other? How do societal, cultural, and individual attitudes affect language use and development? The authors look at contact situations in Spain, Latin America, and the United States. Issues in code-switching and language planning are also discussed.
