Morphology is the study of linguistic forms, or rather, of the stems and inflected forms of words. This handbook, containing contributions written in English and German, informs the reader on fundamental concepts and theoretical approaches of the discipline and on morphological structures of diverse languages. It represents the current state of the art in morphology in a comprehensive fashion at a general level and is illustrated with many examples. Priority is given to a thorough explanation of established concepts and insights, complemented, where necessary, by an unbiased report on alternative problem solutions.
