This textbook presents the first introduction in German to discourse linguistics. It provides an initial entry-point to an area of linguistics which has become established since the 1990s and which analyses supra-textual linguistic units. The authors elucidate the discourse theory underlying the subject and use examples to provide an introduction to the methodology and methods for the linguistic analysis of transtextual structures.
