This book consists of eight articles by leading scholars investigating the acquisition of English by native speakers of Japanese. Because Japanese and English are typologically different along a number of dimensions, the studies in this book address issues which do not arise with other L1-L2 pairings. In addition, they cover a wide range of topics from the acquisiton of VP structures to Functional Category and present new methods of data collection.
