Language Evolution: The Windows Approach

By Rudolf Botha

Language Evolution: The Windows Approach addresses the question: "How can we unravel the evolution of language, given that there is no direct evidence about it?"

The LINGUIST List is dedicated to providing information on language and language analysis, and to providing the discipline of linguistics with the infrastructure necessary to function in the digital world. LINGUIST is a free resource, run by linguistics students and faculty, and supported primarily by your donations. Please support LINGUIST List during the 2016 Fund Drive.

In addition to their role as a LINGUIST List Supporting Publisher, Cambridge University Press is the sponsor of the joint Cambridge - LINGUIST List Assistantship .

The Cambridge - LINGUIST List Assistantship is awarded annually and provides the stipend for one LINGUIST editor. Accompanying graduate tuition is provided by Indiana University (IU).

The contract states that the Assistant shall "be a competent linguist with reasonable scholarly credentials, as verified by a competitive application process including interviews." If you are a student with good scholarly credentials, and are interested in applying for the Cambridge - LINGUIST List Assistantship please contact the current Cambridge Assistant, Publications Team.

As a LINGUIST List Supporting Publisher , Cambridge University Press is able to announce their books and journals to a specifically-targeted academic audience of over 25,000 linguistics students and professionals in 140 different countries.
