Abstract:

The republic of Belarus, which was the former Bielorussian Sovietic Socialist Republic, has a stormy 'linguistic history'. Especially, over the last ten years of the 20th century they have haq thres major linguistic political changes.
This work hope to retrace, via the school language approach, considered as a revelatory of general linguistic policy. These variations have been covered via a historical approach based on archives of the Belarussian Communist Party, via the reading an compilation of the aviable statistic and via an inquiry carried out on four thousand families in Minsk.

We show that the 'catalan' conception of linguistic conflictis pertinent in describing the existing situation in belarus. We underline that linguistic situation of the Belarussian language is may be not as desesperate as it is said to be, and the knowledge of this language is progressing, even the cover of 'hidden language', which leaves hope for a revival.
