In this book, Stroik and Putnam take on Turing's challenge. They argue that the narrow syntax – the lexicon, the Numeration, and the computational system – must reside, for reasons of conceptual necessity, within the performance systems.

Applied Research in English is published (biannually and free of charge) by the English department at the University of Isfahan, Iran. The journal disseminates peer-reviewed original research results in TEFL and Applied Linguistics, in both print and open-access formats. Contributions must be written exclusively in English and should address one of the following categories:
