Regional linguistic society based in the country of Papua New Guinea. Open for membership to anyone interested in the languages of Papua New Guinea. The Linguistic Society of Papua New Guinea has published the journal Language and Linguistics in Melanesia (originally named Kivung) since 1967. The purpose of the journal is to promote the study of linguistics in Melanesia (especially in Papua New Guinea) and to provide a forum for anyone interested in the languages of the region to share linguistic research. |
